Using a flux pen for the first time may seem a bit confusing, but with a few simple steps, you'll be able to effectively apply flux to your soldering projects:
Wet the Tip: When you first receive your flux pen, you may notice that the tip looks dry. To activate the flux, you need to wet the tip. Hold the pen upright, with the tip facing upward, and gently shake the pen up and down to help distribute the flux inside. This will ensure that the flux is ready for use.
Dispense Flux: Once the tip is wet, you can start dispensing flux onto your soldering surface. Press the tip down onto the area where you want to apply flux, and gently squeeze the pen to release the flux. Be careful not to apply too much pressure, as this can cause the flux to leak out.
Refill or Empty: Flux pens are designed to be refillable, so if you run out of flux, you can easily refill the pen with your preferred liquid flux. Simply pull off the tip of the pen and pour in the new flux. Alternatively, if you prefer to use a different method for applying flux, you can empty the pen by pouring out the remaining flux.
Cleaning: After using the flux pen, it's important to clean the tip to prevent clogs and ensure smooth dispensing in the future. You can clean the tip by wiping it with a lint-free cloth or using a small brush to remove any residue.
Storage: When not in use, store the flux pen in a cool, dry place to prevent evaporation and maintain the quality of the flux. Make sure to cap the pen securely to prevent leakage.
