This eye blink detector utilizes an analog ambient light photo sensor – the APDS-9008 from Avago. This sensor resembles those found in cell phones, tablets, and laptops, adjusting screen brightness based on ambient light. Mounted on goggles and aimed towards the eye, it generates pulses when the eye is closed or open, enabling blink detection and counting.
